Steam Cylinder Oils are refined bright stock mineral oils compounded with fatty oil to give preferential metal wetting in the presence of condensed steam, being oils that readily separate from condensate.
Applications
Steam Cylinder Oil is a high quality very high viscosity lubricating oil designed to protect equipment against extremely high temperatures and against corrosion where moisture is present.
Steam Cylinder Oils may be used for cylinder lubrication in steam engines at moderate steam temperatures of up to 240ºC where condensation is present and high pressure conditions where low carbon formation is important.
