The current trend among engine manufacturers is to achieve improved fuel economy, lower exhaust emissions and higher specific horsepower; but also to have a smaller sump capacity and extended oil change intervals.

Engines run hotter due to reduced cooling capacity and increased use of accessories such as air-conditioning. Lubricants intended for these demanding conditions must continue to keep components clean, free from gum/varnish and be sludge free even at the end of their service life.

SX MAX SM/CF Series conforms to the high standards required to achieve long engine life and less maintenance without sacrificing fuel consumption. It maintains excellent engine cleanliness, assisting engine management pollution control systems.

Recommended for pre-2010 engines.

Applications

SX MAX SM/CF Series motor oil is suitable for most multi-valve and fine-tolerance engine/transmission combinations where an oil of this viscosity grade is specified. It contains no friction modifiers and is suitable in wet-clutch applications.

Vehicles operating under low temperature conditions will also benefit from the ability of SX MAX 10W/30 to be pumped quickly to all moving parts when the engine is first started. The SX Max 10W30 meets ILSAC GF-4 fuel economy specification.
